Saint-Emilion 2nd May 2016

Another great tour. This time to an old medieval town which has a church built underground, it is one of the largest monuments built in Europe. After viewing the various points of interest, ie market square, several churches apart from the underground one, and wash houses we then somehow walked up this steep path which I will note today that one would not be advised to walk when the ground is wet as it would be VERY slippery. Once this alley had been negotiated we saw the Kings Tower, Cordeliers Cloister and many, many wine shops selling the famous wines from the area.

Prior to visiting Saint-Emilion we had a tour of an organic winery and tasting to finish.
