Vienna

City tour this morning which includes an hour bus drive around viewing the highlights then a walking tour through the main area of the city ending up at St Peter's Cathedral. Before returning to the hotel we were driven to a Viennese restaurant for lunch.

Vienna Opera House, Hofburg Palace, Parliament Buidlings, Secession Building, and many more. We walked past the area where the Spanish Riding School (Lipizzaners) train and were fortunate to see several of the horses return to their stables. When we walked through the Mall (Karntner Strasse) we saw apart from the various styles of buildings, a monument to those who lost their lives as a result of the Black Plague which had occured in Vienna in 1679. called the Graben, I find it an unusual though meaningful monument.

Of course our lunch in Vienna was Wiener Schnitzel. DH has caught a you beaut sore throat and head cold so decided to stay in bed for the day.
