Amsterdam

Arrival to our ship, Emerald Sky where it is berthed alongside several other cruiseships, Viking, A Rosa, Ama waterways, just to name a few. The mooring is very close (walking distance) to the Central Railway Station. Home to Heineken Beer, windmills, Van Gogh, Vermeer,  water canals, coffee shops, the tragic story of Anne Frank and not to mention the Red Light District.

The morning after our arrival in Amsterdam we went on a city highlight and water canal tour.  The rain from last night had cleared, so the morning was bright and clear. It was Sunday morning so we didn't get to see the bustling city we had expected to see as I assume everyone was still in bed! Though by the time our tour was nearly over the crowds had started to come out, along with the bike riders. It is a real trick to make sure we keep in mind the bike riders when we cross from the footpath, over the bikeway and then roadway, not only keeping the different traffic directions!
