    Is this where Wertheim treadle sewing machines come from. Nana Bowden bought one for 19 pounds 19 shillings in 1909. Nineteen guineas or about 40 dollars but much more expensive in real terms for a woman working in a biscuit factory in Sth Melbourne.

      Could be, it is quite an industrial city. I have a vacum cleaner with this name.
