Brugge has many canals flowing through the city.
Canal on the corner of Huiden-vettersplein.
Steenstraat into Marlet Square.
Belfry in Market Sq.
I was early in there were not many tourists around.
The queue for the climb to the top was still short.
The rear of the Belfry and length of queue.
I bought Paul a waffle on a stick.
The Burg Square (town hall).
On the right hand side of the town hall is a small wooden door which lead into teh Basilca of the Holy Blood. I went in a listened to a recorded service spoken in local language, then German, then French, lastly a smattering of English.
Halfway through I just had to quench my thirst. I found a tavern behind the fish market which wasn't used due to today being a Sunday. PS the beer was most enjoyable.
Frits, Belgium invented the first fries made from potatoes and originally fried in horse fat.
The gate into Belguinage, a silent residental area for women.
Inner courtyard of the Belguinage.
Church for the Belguinage. Here I lit a candle for our families and Paul.
I neede to 'kill time' so stopped for a beer at this lovely house on the Minnewater.
A blond beer. I am not really a beer drinker and only drank about half.
